Falcons Top Pace 3-1 to Close out Regular Season; Will Host St. Anselm in NE10 Quarters

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Ingrid Murphy and Caitlin Wunder each had double-digit kills to power the volleyball team past Pace 3-1 on Saturday to close out the regular season with another win.

The Falcons will go into the NE10 Championship with a 9-2 record and 21-5 overall. They will be the No. 3 seed and host No. 6 seed Saint Anselm in the quarterfinals on Tuesday at 7:00 PM.

After the Setters won the opening set 25-11, it was all Falcons from that point as they won the next three sets 25-18, 25-14, 25-19.

After hitting just .088 in the first set, they turned it around with a .293 percentage in the second set. Wunder had six kills in the set and Natalie Thom 10 assists.

The third set was a balanced effort. Murphy had three kills and Wunder, Maddy Kelley and Rachel Vitko each had two. Freshmen Elliet Manning notched four assists. The biggest lead in the set was 11 points at 20-9.

In the fourth set Pace led 11-9 but the Falcons closed strong to secure the win. They went on a 4-0 run to take a 12-11 lead and never trailed again in the set.

After Pace tied it 12-12, Bentley went on a 13-7 run to close out the match and the final point was a kill by Wunder.
