Bentley Aces Le Moyne for 900th Win in Program History

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Bentley University Falcons used 18 aces, including six by senior Ingrid Murphy (Cotuit, Mass./Barnstable HS) and four each from junior Natalie Thom (Okemos, Mich./Okemos HS) and sophomore Jazzy Burke (Lake George, N.Y./Lake George Central HS), to sweep Le Moyne College, 3-0, in Northeast-10 Conference volleyball Saturday afternoon on Ted Grant Court.

The 25-18, 25-14, 25-16 win was the 900th all-time for the Bentley volleyball program and the team's 21st in 26 matches this season. The Falcons are a sparkling 18-2 against East Region competition and 9-1 conference.

The 18 aces for coach Joey Pacis' team were Bentley's most since September 2005 when they amassed 23 against Saint Anselm and 19 against Southern Connecticut State.

Seven came in the opening set with four of those belonging to Burke.  Murphy had three of the team's six in the second set and both Thom and Murphy had two in the third.

Murphy also was Bentley's top hitter with 13 kills and a .310 hitting percentage. Her 19.5 points matched her season-high in that department.

Freshman Elizabeth Blinn (Concord, N.H./Concord HS) had seven kills in eight swings, an .875 success rate, and also contributed a pair of blocks. Thom led the way in assists with 18.

Bentley hit .344 while holding the Dolphins (7-14, 3-7 NE10) to a .203 hitting percentage.

Bentley will wrap up the regular season next weekend at home with Adelphi University and Pace University providing the opposition.
