Parker Impresses as Bentley Reaches 20-Win Plateau

ALBANY, N.Y. – With graduate student Amanda Parker (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North HS) turning in a stellar performance, Bentley University women's volleyball swept The College of Saint Rose to reach the 20-win plateau for the 23rd time in program history Friday night in Northeast-10 Conference action at the Nolan Gymnasium.

The 25-23, 25-21, 28-26 victory lifted the Falcons to 20-5 overall, 17-2 against East regional opponents and 8-1 in conference play. Saint Rose dropped to 13-13 overall and 4-8 conference.

Parker stuffed the stat sheet with 12 kills, 22 assists, four blocks and a .500 hitting percentage. Bentley, whose last 20-win season came in 2019, also received a strong performance from junior Ellie Wheeler (Olathe, Kans./Saint James Academy) who hit .387 and recorded 14 kills and three aces.

The first set ended with Bentley picking up the final two points, the first on a Parker kill and set point on a Golden Knight attack error.

The Falcons closed out the second set with kills by Parker and junior Maddy Kelley (Fitchburg, Wis./Verona Area HS) after Saint Rose closed within two, 23-21.

Bentley, after trailing 24-22, put away the third set by scoring the final three points. Parker tied it at 25 with a kill, another one by senior Ingrid Murphy (Cotuit, Mass./Barnstable HS) put the Falcons back in front and the match ended on a Saint Rose attack error.

Bentley used superior hitting (.368 to Saint Rose's 205) to offset Saint Rose's advantage in aces (8-4), blocks (8-5) and serving (14 errors by the Falcons).

Coach Joey Pacis' team remains in the Empire State for a Saturday match at Le Moyne College (1:00 pm).
