WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University sophomore outside hitter Ellie Wheeler (Olathe, Kans./ Saint James Academy) has been selected as the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week for her standout performance last week.

Wheeler, the NE10 leader in average kills, totaled 31 kills, 23 digs, two blocks, two aces and 35.5 points during four-set victories over Assumption and Southern Connecticut. She had 14 kills at Assumption and gave Bentley a 17-kill, 15-assist double-double against the Owls. In the two matches, she hit .316.

For the season, Wheeler is averaging 3.67 kills, 2.91 digs and 3.95 points for the Falcons, who have improved to 9-7 on the season after winning nine of their last 12. The defending conference champions are currently third in the NE10 at 5-1.

Wheeler's kill average is on pace to be the best by a Falcon since Susan Harrahy averaged 3.92 in 2007.
