Bentley Falls Twice in Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA, Okla. – The Bentley University women's volleyball team completed play in Oklahoma Christian University's Eagle Invitational with a pair of 3-0 losses Saturday at the Eagles' Nest.

The scores against Lubbock Christian University were 25-20, 25-23 and 25-13. In the final match of the season-opening tournament, Bentley fell to the host team, 26-24, 25-18 and 25-20.

Sophomore Ellie Wheeler (Olathe, Kans./Saint James Academy) led the Falcons in kills during the tournament with 54, including 16 against Oklahoma Christian and 12 vs. Lubbock Christian, along with 14 digs.

Senior Amanda Parker (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North HS) had her third double-double of the weekend against OCU, with 32 assists and 11 digs. During the tournament, she averaged 10.8 assists, 2.8 digs and 0.7 aces.

Freshman Jazzy Burke (Lake George, N.Y./Lake George Central HS) had a career-best 20 digs in the OCU match and nine against LCU.

Lubbock Christian had 11 blocks against the Falcons, including seven block assists from Hannah Froeschl. Oklahoma Christian served eight aces in its victory, with five of those from Alexandra Aponte Torres.

Bentley will return to New England for next weekend's Post University Invitational, beginning with New Haven on Friday.
