OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Bentley University junior Ingrid Murphy (Cotuit, Mass./Barnstable HS) had a pair of double-doubles, but it wasn't enough as the Falcons dropped two matches Friday during the season-opening Oklahoma Christian University Eagle Invitational volleyball tournament at the Eagles' Nest.

Both matches were decided in four sets with the Falcons falling to the host team (25-13, 24-26, 28-26, 25-22) and to St. Mary's University (Texas) (18-25, 27-25, 25-22, 25-15).

The third set was the turning point against Oklahoma Christian with the Eagles picking up the final two points after the set was deadlocked at 26-all.

Three Falcons had ten kills with sophomore Ella Wheeler (Olathe, Kans./Saint James Academy) and senior Shannon Ngo (San Rafael, Calif./Terra Linda HS) matching Murphy (15 digs). Wheeler also had 11 digs in her collegiate debut while Ngo hit .278 and made two blocks.

Senior setter Amanda Parker (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North HS) directed the Falcon offense and finished with 38 assists, three aces, 12 digs and two blocks.

Morgan Demuth was a force for the Eagles as she hit .500 with 11 kills and two blocks.

Hitting was the difference with the Eagles finishing at .228 and Bentley at .127.

Murphy had 12 kills and 17 digs against St. Mary's while Wheeler (16 kills) came within one dig of a second straight double-double.

Parker bettered her solid numbers from the OCU match, finishing with 44 assists, six aces, two blocks and 14 digs.
