WALTHAM, Mass. – The induction of the late Sandy Hoffman, Bentley University's volleyball coach from 1982-2013, into the Northeast-10 Conference Hall of Fame will be recognized Saturday during the Falcons' Senior Day and Dig Lavender match against Le Moyne College. Match time is slated for 1 pm.

Hoffman, one of the winningest volleyball coaches in Division II history and a 2014 inductee into the American Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, will be honored with a presentation before the match. She was selected for the NE-10 Hall of Fame this past spring. Immediately after the contest, a reception will be held in the Carleton Room with light appetizers and refreshments available.

It will also be Bentley's Dig Lavender match with all proceeds raised going to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Sandy.

Lavender is the color ribbon for all rare cancers that don't have their own, including Adrenal Cortical Carcinoma that claimed Hoffman in August 2015 following an amazing and courageous fight.  T shirts will be available for purchase and donations will be collected at the door.

Lastly, Bentley's three seniors – Lauren Van Buren (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa HS), Allie Rotkin (Cumming, Ga./Milton HS) and Ashley Latimer (Croton on Hudson, N.Y./Croton Harmon HS) -- will be honored prior to the match. All three were part of Hoffman's final team, which finished second in the NE-10 with a 17-10 record.

Saturday's match will be the second of the weekend for the Falcons, who host The College of Saint Rose tonight at 7:30 pm.
