Cristolfoli & Bruno Recognized by Northeast-10

WALTHAM, Mass. – Two members of the Bentley University women's volleyball team, junior Celia Cristofoli (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson HS) and freshman Rachel Bruno (San Diego, Calif./Frances Parker HS), were recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference Monday for their performance during a pair of matches last season.

Cristofoli was named the NE-10 Libero of the Week and Bruno was chosen as the co-Rookie of the Week.

Cristofoli averaged 6.0 digs, 0.86 aces and 0.57 assists during two road matches. Included was a 27-dig, four-ace performance in a 3-1 win at St. Michael's, with the 27 digs tying her career-best.

For the season, Cristofoli is second in the NE-10 in service aces with 20, and is also in the top ten in the conference in digs, averaging 4.31.

During a 1-1 week, Bruno hit .423 (25-3-52) while averaging 3.57 kills, 1.14 digs, 1.14 blocks and 4.36 points. After hitting .714 (10-0-14) in a 3-0 loss to 10-2 Post, Bruno established career-bests with 15 kills and six digs against St. Michael's. Bruno also had five blocks against the Purple Knights and hit .316 (15-3-38).

Bruno is hitting .271 for the season while averaging 1.87 kills, 0.93 blocks and 0.67 digs.

Bentley, 3-11 overall after a difficult road schedule to start the season, will open its home schedule Tuesday night against Merrimack College.
