Buscher & Segal Earn All-Northeast-10 Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University seniors Jaci Buscher (Lakewood, Colo./Rocky Mountain HS) and Jessica Segal (West Harrison, N.Y./Harrison HS) have been selected for the 2016 Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball team.

Buscher, an outside hitter, was chosen for the second team for the second straight year, and Segal, Bentley's libero, received a third-team nod.

Buscher, previously named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team for the second consecutive season, leads the Falcons in kills (3.04) and points (3.58), and is second in both digs (2.65) and service aces (32). The six-footer is eighth in the conference in kills and one of only three NE-10 players averaging at least 3.0 kills, 2.6 digs and 0.3 aces.

Buscher has topped the 900 career threshold in both kills and digs this season with her totals currently standing at 962 kills, 934 digs, 119 blocks and 94 aces.

Since Segal's arrival on campus, Bentley volleyball has played a total of 433 sets over the course of 116 matches and she has seen action in every single one. Segal took over as the team's libero this season and delivered by averaging 5.06 kills, a production level that ranks eighth in the conference.

Segal, two aces away from 100 for her career, has amassed 1,202 digs during her four seasons, a total that ranks eighth on Bentley's all-time list.

The Falcons, after being upset in the Northeast-10 quarterfinals on Tuesday, are 18-10 overall. They are awaiting word on whether the season will continue with a second straight NCAA Division II tournament berth with the field slated to be announced Monday evening.

The Sandy Hoffman Coach of the Year award, named in honor of the late longtime Bentley mentor, went to Adelphi University's Danielle McKnight.
