Buscher Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 Volleyball Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University senior outside hitter Jaci Buscher (Lakewood, Colo./ Green Mountain HS) is one of seven outstanding student-athletes selected for the 2015 CoSIDA Division II Academic All-District 1 women's volleyball team by the College Sports Information Directors of America. District 1 includes the Northeast-10 Conference, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and the East Coast Conference.

The seven honorees will advance to the national ballot for the 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-America team, which will be announced next month.

Buscher, making her second straight appearance on the Academic All-District team, leads Bentley in kills (2.98 per set) and points (3.51) while also ranking second in digs (2.60) and aces (26). The 2014 second-team All-Northeast-10 selection is one of four NE-10 players currently averaging at least 2.9 kills, 2.5 digs and 0.3 aces.

Buscher, who eclipsed 900 career kills last weekend, will enter Friday's Senior Night and Dig Lavender match against New Haven needing 15 digs to reach the 900 plateau in that category as well. She'll be the first Falcon since Alex Kearney in 2009 to have both 900 kills and 900 digs.

Buscher has also distinguished herself in the classroom, earning a sparkling 3.91 grade point average while majoring in both economics-finance and liberal studies, with a concentration in global perspectives.

The seven Academic All-District 1 honorees amassed an average GPA of 3.89.
