Dominguez and Tator Gain Weekly Honors from Northeast-10

WALTHAM, Mass. – Following three conference wins, Bentley University senior middle blocker Savannah Dominguez (Miami, Fla./Palmer Trinity HS) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Molten Player of the Week and her classmate Alex Tator (Los Angeles, Calif./Marlborough School) was selected as the NE-10 Molten Setter of the Week.

In a 3-0 week that featured a 3-2 victory at New Haven, Dominguez averaged 2.77 kills, 1.0 blocks, 0.85 digs and 3.73 points while hitting .279. She hit .393 with a season-high 15 kills and also shined defensively (four blocks, six assists) as the Falcons ended New Haven's 94-match regular season NE-10 winning streak on Saturday. In addition, she had a dozen kills against AIC and seven blocks against Southern New Hampshire.

Dominguez, a first-team All-Northeast-10 selection in 2013 who was slowed by injury during the opening weeks this season, has returned to form in recent weeks. Over the team's last ten matches, she's averaged 2.21 kills and one block while helping the Falcons post a 7-3 record over that stretch.

Tator averaged 10.54 assists, 3.09 digs, 0.46 aces and 0.23 blocks during the week.  She had a career-high 57 assists, 18 digs and three aces at New Haven as the Falcons handed the Chargers their first-ever regular season Northeast-10 loss. Earlier in the week, she had 39 assists and 18 digs at Southern New Hampshire and 41 assists with two aces against AIC.

Seventh in school history in career assists (2,611), Tator is currently averaging 9.0 assists, 2.1 digs and 0.49 kills with a team-best 24 aces.

Two other Falcons who were instrumental in the team's success were named to the NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll, junior outside hitter Jaci Buscher (Lakewood, Colo./Green Mountain HS) and senior libero Lauren Colasanti (Northville, Mich./Northville HS).

Buscher had a career-high 22 kills (her third 20-kill performance of the year) and 18 digs in the New Haven match. Overall, she averaged 2.77 kills, 3.15 digs and 3.12 points in the three conference wins.

Colasanti averaged 6.08 digs and 0.46 aces for the Falcons during the week. After making 26 digs against Southern New Hampshire and 20 against American International, she tied her career-high with 33 in the win at New Haven.

Bentley, 12-7 overall and 7-2 Northeast-10, is at Assumption College tonight.
