Dominguez, Tator & Hoffman Honored by Northeast-10

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University middle hitter Savannah Dominguez (Miami, Fla./Palmer Trinity HS) has been voted to the All-Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball first team, and classmate Alex Tator (Los Angeles, Calif./Marlborough School) earned second-team honors.

The inaugural Sandy Hoffman Coach of the Year Award went to its namesake, the long-time Bentley coach, who was selected unanimously for the honor by her peers.  Last month, the conference voted to name the award in Hoffman's honor.

Dominguez ranks second in the NE-10 in hitting (.365), fourth in kills per set (3.06), fifth in total kills (324), fifth in aces (37) and 10th in blocks (81). She's the only player in the conference to have at least 225 kills, 50 blocks and 30 aces.

Dominguez' hitting percentage is the fifth best single-season mark in program history and her career .308 puts her at number six all-time. She reached double-digits in kills 20 times and hit at least .500 in seven matches.

Tator is one of only two setters in the conference to have over 1,000 assists this season and her average of 9.78 was the best by a Falcon since 2007. She finished the season with 2,008 career assists, good for ninth on Bentley's all-time list.

Tator, who also averaged 2.07 digs and 0.68 kills, had at least 50 assists three times and an average of ten per set in 15 matches.

Hoffman, the conference's Coach of the Year for the eighth time, directed the Falcons to a 17-10 record and a tie for second place in the Northeast-10. It was an improvement of seven-and-a-half games and eight places over the squad's 2012 finish.

Hoffman moved to number four on the all-time Division II win list earlier in the season and concluded the year with a career mark of 758-366.
