Buckner Selected for Northeast-10 Women’s Volleyball All-Rookie Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University freshman outside hitter Kelsey Buckner (San Marino, Calif./San Marino HS) has been selected for the 2011 Northeast-10 Conference Women's Volleyball All-Rookie Team, which was announced today.

Buckner led the Falcons in kills, with her per-set average of 3.16 ranking sixth in the conference. Of the five players in front of her on the list, four earned All-Conference honors. She also ranked seventh in the NE-10 in points per set, averaging 3.62.

In addition, Buckner gave Bentley 2.46 digs, 0.31 aces and 0.29 blocks per set during her first collegiate season.  She had 11 double-doubles, including eight in 15 conference matches.

Buckner's season-highs included 20 kills against Queens College Sept. 17, five aces against New Haven Nov. 4, four blocks against Wilmington (Del.) Sept. 10 and 18 digs in the Queens match.

Bentley finished the season with records of 12-15 overall and 9-9 NE-10.
