EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- Senior Andrea Farah (Miami, Fla./Palmer Trinity HS) put down a career-high 16 kills and served five aces, a total matched by freshman Kristina Wilson (Boca Raton, Fla./Spanish River HS), as Bentley University opened played in the East Stroudsburg State Farm Volleyball Classic with a 3-1 win over Alderson-Broaddus College (W.V.) Friday evening at the Koehler Fieldhouse. Scores were 25-16, 20-25, 27-25 and 30-28.

Bentley made it a 2-0 night and improved to 8-7 overall with a three-set sweep of Molloy College later in the evening. In the 25-18, 25-12, 25-13 victory, senior Alaura Berry (San Diego, Calif./ Rancho Bernardo HS) paced the Falcons with 10 kills.

Against the A-B Battlers, Bentley also received 10 kills from freshman Ashley Ahearn (Marshfield, Mass./Marshfield HS) and nine (with a .421 hitting percentage) from sophomore Bridget Lawson (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West HS). Berry was also involved, finishing with eight kills.

Senior Kelly Mee (Ivyland, Pa./Council Rock North HS), playing in her home state, had a strong match, finishing with 37 assists. Mee also provided 26 assists in the win over Molloy (3-15).

In the latter match, Ahearn registered seven kills and Farah followed with six, and only one error, in 10 swings (.500). Senior libero Maitlyn Kraft (New Braunfels, Texas/St. Mary's Hall) helped lead the defense with 15 digs.

The two-day event concludes Saturday with Bentley facing 13-2 King College (Tenn.) at 12:30 pm.
