Berry, Farah Each Record 10 Kills as Bentley Tops Georgian Court in Four
WALTHAM, Mass. -- Seniors Alaura Berry (San Diego, Calif./Rancho Bernardo HS) and Andrea Farah (Miami, Fla./Palmer Trinity HS) each recorded 10 kills as Bentley University opened its home season with a four-set victory over Georgian Court University Friday night in the Bentley Invitational volleyball tournament at the Dana Center.
The 25-17, 19-25, 25-11, 25-18 win evened the Falcon record at 2-2. Georgian Court, which lost to Stonehill in three games earlier in the day, dropped to 0-6.
Berry hit .400 en route to her 10 kills, and also provided a pair of blocks. Farah swung at a .292 success rate and came within one dig of a double-double.
Senior setter Kelly Mee (Ivyland, Pa./Council Rock HS) registered 36 assists on the Falcons' 41 kills, and also led Bentley in blocks with four. Senior Maitlyn Kraft (New Braunfels, Texas/St. Mary's Hall) made a team-high 15 digs, two more than freshman Kristina Wilson (Boca Raton, Fla./Spanish River HS).
Sophomore Amy Berry (Bayville, N.J.) and freshman Monica Ponce (Toms River, N.J.) both had 11 kills for Georgian Court, which hit just .008 in the match.
The tournament continues on Saturday with Bentley facing Holy Family at 10 am and New Haven at 3:30 pm.
