Burmester Earns USTFCCCA Indoor All-Region Honors in Two Events

WALTHAM, Mass. – Caitlin Burmester earned Indoor All-Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association for both the one mile and 3000 meter events.

The top-five individuals in each event earned All-Region distinction.

She had five, top-five finishes in the mile in the indoor season, including a victory at the UMass Boston Invitational on Dec. 10. She finished fourth at the NE10 Championships and her best time of the season was 5:02.86 at the Last Chance meet on Feb. 23.

In the 3000 her best time was 10:23.68 at the Suffolk Relays for a third-place finish.

In the fall, Burmester qualified for the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships. She was also named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic team for the cross country season.
