Ambroult & Burmester Lead Bentley Women at Merrimack

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Junior Lucy Ambroult (Holbrook/Holbrook HS) and sophomore Caitlin Burmester (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin HS) were the top performers for the Bentley University women's outdoor track and field team during the Merrimack College Alumni Classic Saturday at Doane Stadium.

Burmester was the runner-up in the 800 meters with her time of 2:18.08 fourth best in the Northeast-10 Conference thus far this season and sixth best in program history.

Ambroult ran to second in the 100 meters, with her 12.62 just three-hundredths of a second off the school record she set a week ago, and was third in the 200. Her personal best 26.01 in the latter elevated her to third in program history.

Senior Audrey Christo (Belmont/Belmont HS) was fourth among 23 participants in the 1500, finishing in 4:55.02.

Bentley also received a strong performance from freshman HaiLian Rowan (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Lakeland HS) in the 100 as she was sixth among 24 runners (13.25).

Christo wasn't the only Falcon to run well in the 1500 as PR's were achieved by sophomore Brooke Neri (Westbrook, Conn./Westbrook HS) (5:29.65) and senior Samantha Martel (North Reading/North Reading HS) (5:38.39).

Next Saturday, Bentley is at UMass-Lowell for the George Davis Invitational.
