Ambroult Breaks School Record in 60, Twice

BOSTON, Mass. – Lucy Ambroult (Holbrook/Holbrook HS) opened her junior year on the Bentley University women's track and field team Saturday by twice breaking the school record in the 60 meter dash while competing in the Beacon Invitational at the Track at New Balance.

Ambroult ran the prelims in exactly eight seconds, bettering the mark Stephanie Mattson posted in 2017 by four-hundredths of a second, and improved on that with a 7.97 in the finals. She finished fourth in a field of 53 and trailed only three Division I athletes: Faith Richardson (UMass). Madison Marsh (UMass-Lowell) and Xiana Twombly (Rhode Island).

Ambroult also finished seventh among 14 competitors in the long jump with a distance of 17 feet, 0.75 inches.

Sophomore Caitlin Burmester (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin HS), after a strong cross country season, established a new personal best in the mile with her 5:23.75 second best in the Northeast-10 Conference so far this season. It improved on her freshman year indoor best by 7.38 seconds.

Sophomore Brooke Neri (Westbrook, Conn./Westbrook HS) ran the 5,000 meters in 20:14.29, an improvement of 6.41 seconds on her best outdoor time last season.  She was fifth in the race.

Senior Aubrey Christo (Belmont/Belmont HS) posted the NE10's second fasted 3,000 time of the young season, 11:24.70.

Bentley's next meet is the Reggie Poyau Invitational Jan. 14 at Brandeis University.
