Record-Breaking Day for Bentley Women’s Track at SNHU; 3 Marks Fall

MANCHESTER, N.H. – It was a record-breaking day for the Bentley University women's track and field team Saturday during the Penmen Relays at Southern New Hampshire University with three marks falling.

School records were achieved by seniors Samantha Bilodeau (New Ipswich, N.H./Mascenic Reg. HS) and Chase Davies (Marblehead, Mass./Marblehead HS), as well as by junior Lucy Ambroult (Holbrook, Mass./Holbrook HS).

Bilodeau ran to victory in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with her 11:30.11 an improvement of 12.10 seconds on the mark owned by Samantha Albanese since 2015. It improved on her personal best by 25.36 seconds and elevated her to number three on the season's Northeast-10 Conference performance list.

Davies broke her own school record in the 100 hurdles for the second consecutive Saturday, her clocking of 14.81 seconds an improvement on the 15.00 she ran last week during the UC San Diego Triton Invitational. She moved to number two on the NE10 performance list and like Bilodeau, took first place in the event. Davies also tied for sixth on the high jump, clearing four feet, nine inches.

Ambroult finished fourth in the 100 meters, her effort of 12.65 bettering the school record she set earlier in the month at Bryant by one-hundredth of a second. On the conference list, she now ranks eighth.

Ambroult was also the runner-up, in a field of 17, in the long jump, achieving a distance of 17 feet, 8 inches.

Caitlin Burmester (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin HS) continued her strong freshman season by finishing third of 27 in the 800. Her time of 2:21.36 created a new PR by 1.63 seconds, moved her to fifth on the NE10 performance list and to tenth on Bentley's all-time list.

Fifth-place performances were achieved by freshman Brooke Neri (Westbrook, Conn./Westbrook HS) in the 5,000 (20:20.70, a PR by seven seconds, and by sophomore Natalia Moulding (Wareham, Mass./Wareham HS) in the mile (5:54.00).

Bentley finished seventh among 15 teams with 60.5 points.

The next meet for the Falcons is the George Davis Invitational at UMass-Lowell Saturday.
