Davies Breaks Own Record in 60 Hurdles at Maine; Bentley Has 3 1st-Place Finishes

ORONO, Maine – Bentley University senior Chase Davies (Marblehead, Mass./ Marblehead HS) broke her own school record in the 60 meter hurdles and was one of three Falcons to earn a first-place finish during the University of Maine Saturday Invitational Saturday.

Davies bettered her existing mark, set two weeks ago at Boston University, by 12 hundredths of a second with a 9.07 second clocking in the prelims. She didn't match that performance in the finals but her 9.25 was still good for first place. On the Northeast-10 Conference season list, the 9.07 was good for fifth place.

Davies also competed in the long jump and high jump. She was fifth of 15 in the long with her 15'8.75" a new personal best by nearly nine inches and good for 11th on Bentley's all-time list. She also was fifth of 12 in the high jump with her 4'9.5" a new PR and 13th best in program history.

Sophomore Lucy Ambroult (Holbrook, Mass./Holbrook HS) led a 19-athlete field in the long jump with her distance of 17 feet even elevating her to fifth on Bentley's all-time list and ninth on the NE10 list. It bettered her PR by four inches.

Ambroult was also second of 21 in the 60 meters, reaching the line in 8.29 seconds.

Bentley's third first came in the 3,000 with senior Samantha Bilodeau (New Ipswich, N.H./Mascenic Reg. HS) breaking the tape in 11:13.44, a PR by 16.83 seconds.

Senior Megan Niedzwiecki (Old Orchard Beach, Maine/Old Orchard Beach HS) was seventh of 28 in the shot put, her throw of 32'4.25" bettering her PR by four inches. In the triple jump, sophomore Angie Grabmeier (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton HS) placed sixth in 33'10.25".

On Friday, during the David Hemery Valentine's Invitational at Boston University, freshman Caitlin Burmester (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin HS) set a PR in the 800. Her 2:22.24 lifted her to 11th on Bentley's all-time list and put her 112th among 186 competitors in the predominantly-Division I meet.
