Bilodeau, Davies & Hurwitz Earn USTFCCCA All-East Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – Recent Bentley University graduate Sydney Hurwitz (Newton/Newton North HS) and two of her teammates, rising seniors Samantha Bilodeau (New Ipswich, N.H./ Mascenic Reg. HS) and Chase Davies (Marblehead/Marblehead HS), have been named 2021 Division II All East Region by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for their performances during the 2021 outdoor season.

Hurwitz was recognized in both the 100-meter hurdles and the long jump. Davies received All-East honors in the heptathlon and Bilodeau was saluted for her performance in the 10,000 meters.

The top five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, as well as each of the members of a top-three ranked relay team.

Hurwitz ranked fourth in the East in the long jump (18'4.25") and fifth in the 100 meter hurdles (15.28 seconds). She was the Northeast-10 champion in the long jump and sixth in the 100 hurdles. Her season also included placing tenth in the hurdles at the New England Championships.

Davies had the region's best score in the heptathlon, 3,851 points, a school-record performance she achieved while capturing the Northeast-10 championship. She also just missed earning All-Region honors in the 100 hurdles, by one place and three-hundredths of a second.

Bilodeau ran the region's second fastest time in the 10,000 meters, 39:18.72, while placing 12th in the New England Championships. That came after a fourth-place showing in the event at the NE10s.
