Bentley Led by Hurwitz, Men’s 4x400 Relay During New Englands

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – At this weekend's New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Championships at Veteran's Stadium, Bentley University was led by senior Sydney Hurwitz (Newton, Mass./Newton North HS) and the men's 4x400 meter relay team. Both recorded tenth place finishes.

Hurwitz was tenth in the 100 meter hurdles, with a time of 15:43 seconds, and also 15th in the long jump, clearing 17 feet, 7 inches. Junior Chase Davies (Marblehead, Mass./Marblehead HS) also represented Bentley in the hurdles, finishing 19th in 16.17.

In the 4x400, junior Joe Wix (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial HS) and sophomore Jack Deehan (Westwood, Mass./Westwood HS) combined with freshmen Matt Chicko (North Andover, Mass./North Andover HS) and Finn Power (East Lyme, Conn./East Lyme HS) to finish tenth in 3:28.66. Deehan and Chicko were also 20th and 26th, respectively, in the 800, with each posting a new PR. Deehan's 1:55.66 was 13th best among East Region Division II runners this year, and Chicko finished in 2:00.11.

Junior Samantha Bilodeau (New Ipswich, N.H./Mascenic Reg. HS) was 12th overall in the 10,000 meters with her 39:18.72 an improvement on her career best by 8.13 seconds and fourth best in program history. It was also fifth best among Division II East runners this spring.

Other New England participants for the Bentley men were senior Soham Basu (Ridgewood, N.J./ Ridgewood HS) (19th in the 5,000, 16:01.00) and senior Peter Maselli (Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson HS (23rd, javelin, 153'1"),
