Mattson Repeat Selection for Google Cloud Academic All-District Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – For the second straight year, Bentley University track standout Stephanie Mattson (Smithfield, R.I./Smithfield HS) has been named to the Google Cloud NCAA Division II Academic All-District 1 Women's Track and Cross Country team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

District 1 includes student-athletes from the Northeast-10 Conference, the East Coast Conference and the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. The student-athletes on the eight All-District teams will advance to the national ballot for Google Cloud Academic All-America® consideration.

Mattson was also recently named to the Academic All-Northeast-10 Conference team for women's indoor track and field.

Mattson's junior year featured her breaking 11 school records in eight events. She made changes to the record book six times in five events indoors and five times in three events outdoors. Mattson will enter her senior year with her name attached to eight individual records and five outdoors.

Her honors during the 2017-18 seasons included All-New England twice (indoor 400 meters, outdoor long jump), USTFCCCA Division II All-East Region honors three times (long jump indoors and out, 400 outdoors). Mattson's highest finishes in the Northeast-10 Championships were second in the 400 outdoors (56.97 seconds), second in the long jump indoors (18'8") and fourth in the 400 indoors (58.77).

Mattson has also excelled in the classroom, achieving a 3.96 grade point average while majoring in actuarial science and business studies. She recently completed her third straight semester with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
