Carlson’s Javelin Throw Leads Bentley during MIT Sean Collier Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Jacqueline Carlson (Kensington, Conn./Berlin HS) had the highest finish for a member of the Bentley University women's outdoor track and field team during Saturday's Sean Collier Invitational at MIT's Henry Steinbrenner Stadium as she was fourth out of 27 in the javelin, posting a best throw of 111'3.25".

Freshman Courtney Wilson (Morrisonville, N.Y./Beekmantown Central HS) was ninth of 29 in the long jump, improving on her personal best by over six inches with a distance of 15'10.25". That also elevated her to ninth on Bentley's all-time list. Another ninth place finish came from senior Brynnan Farrington (Shirley/Ayer HS) in a field of 32 in the shot put (34'6.75").

In the 1500 meters, sophomores Danielle Coskren (North Andover/North Andover HS) and Katie Burke (Braintree/Braintree HS) took ninth and tenth respectively, in a field of 40. Coskren finished in 5:02.80 and Burke established a new PR of 5:03.67, improving on her prior best by 7.34 seconds.

Bentley also had consecutive finishers in the 800 with freshman Marianne Bartolotta (Wantagh, N.Y./Holy Trinity HS) tenth of 35 in 2:27.28 and junior Dusty Sacco (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes HS) 11th (2:27.39). Bartolotta's time improved on her PR by 1.75 seconds.

Junior Arianne Bourgault (Fitchburg/Fitchburg HS) improved on her PR in the 5000 by more than 35 seconds with her 20:02.78 good for 14th of 30 overall.

Next Friday, Bentley will compete in the Stonehill Classic, the team's final meet before the Northeast-10 Championships.
