Kershaw & Wegner Crack Bentley's All-Time List in 300 Meters During Harvard Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Taren Kershaw (Revere/Revere HS) and junior Vanessa Wegner (Westborough/Westborough HS) posted the second and third fastest 300 meter times in Bentley University history while competing in the Harvard Invitational at the Gordon Track and Tennis Center Saturday.

Kershaw finished ninth in a field of 21 with a time of 43.41 seconds and Wegner was 12th overall in 44.05. The only better 300 in program history, 43.10, was posted by Marcie Beauzile 14 years ago.

Kershaw and Wegner also combined with senior Delia Equitz (Sussex, Wisc./Arrowhead Union HS) and sophomore Kendal Pratt (Topsfield/Masconomet Reg. HS) to finish ninth in the 4x440 yard relay with a time of 4:16.39.

Bentley also received a ninth place finish from junior Brynnan Farrington (Shirley/Ayer HS) in the shot with a throw of 35 feet, 6.75 inches.

On Friday, junior Tatiana Froehlich (Newton/Newton North HS) and sophomore Olyvia Leahy (New Bedford/New Bedford HS) represented Bentley in the indoor pentathlon at the Tufts Stampede in Medford. Froehlich finished sixth of nine with a 2331 and Leahy was ninth with 1732 as both competed in a multi-event competition for the first time.

Froehlich came within 57 of the school record with her best point total coming in the high jump (534, 4'7.75"). Leahy matched that performance and picked up 648 points in the 60 meter hurdles (10.35 seconds).

On Friday, Bentley will compete in the Boston University Valentine's Invitational.
