WALTHAM, Mass.  – Thirteen members of the Bentley University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams are seeded in the top eight in at least one event for this weekend's Northeast-10 Conference Championships, which will be contested at American International College in Springfield Friday and Saturday.

Friday's competition is scheduled to get underway at 12:30 pm and Saturday's action will start at 10:30 am.

Topping the list of Bentley entrants is senior Caitlin Fahey (Bridgewater/Coyle-Cassidy HS), who has the best qualifying time in both the women's 800 and 1500 meters. She's coming off a school record 4:29.43 Sunday at Brown, the tenth best time recorded by a Division II woman this season, and was the NE-10 indoor champion in the 1,000.

Classmate Amy Varsell (Burlington, Conn./Lewis S. Mills HS), the defending champion and meet record-holder in both events, is seeded second in the 1500 and 13th in the 800. Fahey and Varsell are also projected to compete in the 4x800.

Freshman Edy-Elliot Uthman-Olukokun (West Warwick, R.I./West Warwick HS) is listed in the top four on the entry list in four individual events, including number three in the 100 meters. He's also fifth in the 200, seventh in the long jump and tenth in the triple jump, and is expected to be part of the Falcons' 4x100 relay that has the second-best qualifying time.

In other track events, junior Ashley Nichols (Kenmore, Wash./Inglemoor HS) is listed sixth in the women's 5,000 and senior John Drago (Avon, Conn./Avon HS) is number eight in the men's 5K. In the 3,000 steeplechase, freshman Samantha Albanese (Lynnfield/Lynnfield HS) is eighth.

In women's field events, sophomore Tatiana Froehlich (Newton/Newton North HS) and junior Aubrey Batzinger (Wallingford, Conn./Wallingford HS) are fifth and sixth, respectively, in the discus. Senior Keisha Johnson (Randolph/Randolph HS) is sixth in the triple jump, and sophomore Brynnan Farrington (Shirley/Ayer HS) is seventh in the shot. Farrington (sixth in shot) and Froehlich (eighth in discus) both scored a year ago, and Johnson's resume includes top three finishes in the triple jump in 2010 and 2011.

The men's side has freshman Connor Hichens (Sharon/Sharon HS) and sophomore John Chiulli (Lynbrook, N.Y./Lynbrook HS) ranked sixth in the triple jump and discus, respectively, and sophomore Anthony Charter (Hubbardston/Quabbin Reg. HS) eighth in both the triple jump and long jump. Last year, he placed in both with a fourth in the long jump and a seventh in the triple jump.

A pre-meet poll of conference coaches projected both Bentley teams to finish seventh.
