Pettinella Wins Open 800 at GBTC Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomores Alix Pettinella (Wingdale, N.Y./Arlington HS) and Brynnan Farrington (Shirley/Ayer HS) and senior Caitlin Fahey (Bridgewater/Coyle-Cassidy HS) were among the top performers for the Bentley University women's indoor track team during Sunday's Greater Boston Track Club Invitational at Harvard University's Gordon Track and Tennis Center.

Pettinella ran to victory in the open 800 meters, with her time of 2:28.83 a new personal best. In the same event, freshman Dusty Rose Sacco (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes HS) was third (2:38.08) and junior Heather Hallstrom (Federal Wau, Wash./Todd Beamer Campus) was sixth in 2:44.30.

Fahey, the only collegian to compete, was sixth of ten overall in the Bill Squires Invitational mile, with her time of 5:08.45 the second best recorded by a Northeast-10 runner thus far this season.

Farrington established a new PR in the shot put with a throw of 37 feet, eight inches. She finished third of ten overall and good for fifth on the NE-10 performance list for the indoor season.

Senior Andrea Crowley (Bourne/Bourne HS) finished second of 25, and first among collegians, in the 200 meters (27.50 seconds) and was fifth of 24 in the 60 (8.31). She was also part of the Falcons' 4x220 yard relay that placed second in 1:55.16. That quartet also included senior Melissa Kimball (Weymouth/Weymouth HS) and freshmen Olyvia Leahy (New Bedford/New Bedford HS) and Heather Piscatelli (North Haven, Conn./North Haven HS).

Kimball also set a PR of 28.04 while finishing fourth in the 200, and Leahy achieved new indoor bests in the 60 meter hurdles (10.18, fifth place) and in the high jump (4'9.75", fifth place).

Senior Keisha Johnson (Randolph/Randolph HS) also had a strong meet as she was third in the triple jump (35'8") and fifth in the long jump (16'4.25").

Bentley will compete in the Boston University Terrier Invitational Friday night.
