Varsell, Fahey Turn in Strong Performances in Dartmouth Indoor Classic Mile

HANOVER, N.H. – Juniors Amy Varsell (Burlington, Conn./Lewis S. Mills HS) and Caitlin Fahey (Bridgewater, Mass./Coyle-Cassidy HS) had the top performances for the Bentley University women's indoor track and field team during Saturday's Dartmouth Indoor Classic at the Leverone Field House.

Varsell, a Division II All-America in the mile, was second among 46 runners in first collegiate indoor mile, with her time of 5:05.80 putting her fourth on Bentley's all-time list in the event and behind only Middlebury's Addie Tousley in the race (5:02.16). Fahey followed her across the finish line, her 5:07.93 a personal best by more than nine seconds and good for fifth in Falcon history.

Sophomore Brittany Pandolph (Tewksbury/Tewksbury HS) and freshman Brynnan Farrington (Shirley, Mass./Ayer HS) both established personal bests in the shot put. Pandolph, with a throw of 37 feet 11.25 inches, was seventh out of 35, and Farrington placed tenth after posting a distance of 35 feet, 7.25 inches.

Senior Maddy McDonnell (San Francisco, Calif./St. Ignasius Prep) was the other Falcon to finish in the top half of her event as she was 17th of 35 in the 800 meters with a time of 2:30.62.

Bentley's next meet is the Boston University Valentine's Invitational on Friday.
