Johnson, Pandolph Top Performers for Bentley Women in AIC Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Junior Keisha Johnson (Randolph/Randolph HS) and freshman Brittany Pandolph (Tewksbury/Tewksbury HS) were the top performers for the Bentley University women's outdoor track team at Saturday's American International College Yellow Jacket Invitational.

Pandolph became the third athlete in Bentley women's track history to clear 35 feet in the shot put, exceeding that distance by 10 inches to finish fifth amongst 18 competitors. She was also fifth of nine in the javelin with a threw of 110 feet, 11 inches.

Johnson was sixth of 10 in the long jump, clearing 15 feet, 2.25 inches, and her triple jump distance of 33 feet, one inch was good for fourth in a field of seven.

In the discus, freshman Aubrey Batzinger (Wallingford, Conn./Lyman Hall) moved to fifth on Bentley's all-time list with a throw of 110 feet, four inches. That was good for fourth in a field of 13.

Bentley, which rested its top three runners, was sixth of seven in the team standings with 31 points. The College of Holy Cross and the University of Massachusetts dominated the scoring as the two Division I programs finished with 266 and 199 points, respectively. AIC was third with 98.

Next Saturday, Bentley will be at UMass-Lowell for the George Davis Invitational.
