Bentley Tops Simmons 8-1 in Season Finale as Five Players Win Twice

BOSTON, Mass. – Five players won in both singles and doubles as the Bentley women's tennis team defeated Simmons 8-1 on Friday in its final match of the season.

Seniors Anna Higgins (Andover, Mass./Andover), Zoe Chin (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) and Miruna Constantin (Ploiesti, Romania) were three of the five players to win both their singles and doubles matches.

Junior Anna Lang (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) and sophomore Chloe Arsenault (Rye, N.H./Portsmouth) also earned two victories.

Bentley won all three doubles matches, with Chin and Arsenault leading the way with an 8-2 victory in the No. 1 match. Higgins and Rachel Holden (Pomfret, Conn./Woodstock) were 8-2 winners in the No. 2 match, and Lang and Constantin took the No. 3 match in a tiebreak, 8-7.

In singles, Lang defeated Anne Halloran 6-0, 6-3 in No. 1. Chin knocked off her opponent Libby Weed by a 6-0, 7-5 score in No. 2. Arsenault earned a 6-1, 6-4 over Leah Bonis in No. 3.

Higgins cruised to a 6-3, 6-0 triumph over Avery Halloran in No. 4, and the No. 6 match saw Constantin get the better of Emily Lopez 6-4, 6-2.
