Higgins and Arsenault Win in Singles for Bentley vs. Franklin Pierce

RINDGE, N.H. – Senior Anna Higgins (Andover, Mass./Andover) won her second straight singles match, but Bentley fell to Franklin Pierce 5-2 on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Chloe Arsenault (Rye, N.H./Portsmouth) also earned a singles win for the Falcons.

Higgins, who won her last singles match in Bentley's previous match against Saint Michael's last weekend, was victorious in the No. 6 position. She dropped just two games to defeat Franklin Pierce's Kusum Aryal, 6-1, 6-1.

Arsenault cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Jillian Pagliuca in the No. 5 match.

Franklin Pierce though won the No. 1-4 singles matches, to build upon the 1-0 lead they had from winning the doubles point.

Bentley's lineup in singles had Maria Mella (Santo Domingo, D.R.) in No. 1, Adriana Hiraldo (San Juan, P.R.) in No. 2, Remi LeSage (Sarasota, Fla./IMG) in No. 3 and Anna Lang (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) in No. 4.

In doubles, Mella and Hiraldo teamed in No. 1, Lang and LeSage in No. 2 and Arsenault and Miruna Constantin (Ploiesti, Romania) in No. 3.

Bentley's next match is set for Tuesday at New Haven.
