Women’s Tennis Falls to Adelphi

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Adelphi, picked second in the Northeast-10 Preseason Coaches' Poll, picked up a 7-0 victory over Bentley University in conference action on Sunday.

The Panthers improved to 3-1 on the season and 2-0 NE10. Bentley fell to 0-3.

Adelphi swept the doubles matches, led by its No. 1 pairing of Barbie Quagliardi and Caterina Federici.

Bentley's pairings were Maria Mella (Santo Domingo, D.R.) and Adriana Hiraldo (San Juan, P.R.) in No. 1, Anna Lang (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) and Makena Romagnano (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) in No. 2 and Rachel Holden (Pomfret, Conn./Woodstock) and Anna Higgins (Andover, Mass./Andover) in No. 3.

In singles, the lineup was Romagnano in No. 1, Hiraldo in No. 2, Remi LeSage (Sarasota, Fla./IMG) in No. 3, Lang in No. 4, Chloe Arsenault (Rye, N.H./Portsmouth) in No. 5 and Holden in No. 6.

Bentley will be back on the courts on Tuesday when they visit Assumption.
