NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Bentley women's tennis team began its fall season with a strong showing at the Colby-Sawyer Invitational on Sunday with several players winning their flight in singles.

Four different Falcons won their flights in singles, led by sophomore Maria Mella (Santo Domingo, D.R.) in the first singles flight.

Junior Adriana Hiraldo (San Juan, P.R.), junior Anna Lang (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) and senior Anna Higgins (Andover, Mass./Andover) also won their singles flight.

Winning two singles matches was required to win a flight.

Bentley's next match is its home opener and first dual match, on Saturday, Sept. 10 against Post University.
