Bentley Tops Scranton 6-3 in Florida Finale

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Bentley women's tennis team closed out its Florida trip on Friday with a 6-3 victory over the University of Scranton.

The Falcons' strength in singles play powered them to the win as they won five of the six matches. Junior Makena Romagnano (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) took the No. 1 match in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 10-8. Sophomore Adriana Hiraldo (San Juan, P.R.) was victorious in No. 2 by a 6-2, 6-1 score. Sophomore Anna Lang (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) breezed to a 6-2, 6-1 win in the No. 4 spot.

Sophomore Libby Keefe (Lowell, Mass./Lowell Catholic) was another three sets winner. She rallied after she dropped the first set for a 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 victory in No. 5

Junior Anna Higgins (Andover, Mass./Andover) claimed the No. 6 match, 7-5, 6-1.

In doubles, Bentley's team of Alyssa Cook (New Castle, N.H./Portsmouth) and Rachel Holden (Pomfret, Conn./Woodstock) defeated Scranton's team of Maddy Tratthen and Julia Nocentino in No. 3 by an 8-6 score.

Bentley now will return home to prepare for its next match, on Mach 26 at Springfield College.
