Women’s Tennis Named an ITA All-Academic Team; Fabianski and Welty named Scholar-Athletes

Waltham, Mass. – The Bentley women's tennis team earned ITA All-Academic team status for the 2018-19 season, while recent graduate Hannah Fabianski (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington) rising junior Evann Welty (Wayzata, Minn./Mount Westonka) were ITA Scholar-Athletes for the year.

The All-Academic team award is given to any team that had a cumulative GPA of 3.20 for the academic year. To be named a Scholar-Athlete, a player must have a GPA of at least 3.50 for the current academic year.

Fabianski graduated in May from Bentley with a degree in management. This marks the fourth straight season she earned a Scholar-Athlete award, every year of her Bentley career. Fabianski also served as the President of Bentley's Leadership Society during her time in Waltham.

On the court, she was the Falcons' No. 1 singles player the last two seasons and the team captain for 2018-19 as a senior. She won 40 singles matches during her career and was named All-NE10 for the 2015-16 season.

Welty is an ITA Scholar-Athlete for the second straight season. An economics-finance major, she tied for the team lead in singles wins for the second straight season with nine after she posted 15 wins as a freshman.
