Fabianski & Suchanek Collect Northeast-10 Awards

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University's Hannah Fabianski (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington) was named the Northeast-10 Women's Tennis Player of the Week, and Tiffany Suchanek (Wateville, Maine/Waterville) was named Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Fabianski went 3-1 in singles and 2-1 in doubles during Bentley's spring break trip last week to earn Player of the Week honors for the first time. Suchanek went 2-1 in singles and 3-1 in doubles for her first Rookie of the Week award.

Fabianski claimed a win in No. 1 singles against Webber International (6-2, 7-6), and wins in No. 2 matches against Southwest Minnesota State (6-1, 6-1) and Southern Indiana (6-3, 7-5). In doubles, she teamed with Rachel Hui for a win in the No. 1 match against Webber (8-2), and she and Suchanek took the No. 2 match against Winona State (8-5).

Suchanek took the No. 3 singles match against Webber (6-1, 6-1) and the No. 4 match against Winona State (6-1, 6-1). In addition to her doubles victory with Fabianski against Winona State, she teamed with Corrie MacLean to be victorious in No.2 matches against both Webber (8-0) and Southwest Minnesota (8-3).

As a team, Bentley finished the trip with a 4-2 record, and boasts a 13-7 overall record. The team's next match is on Saturday the 25th when they host Roberts Wesleyan at the Adirondack Club.
