Bentley Tennis Teams, Players Honored by ITA for Academics

WALTHAM, Mass. – Both of the Bentley men's and women's tennis teams, and a combined 12 players from both squads, were honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for their outstanding work in the classroom last year.

Both teams as a whole were recognized with an ITA All-Academic Team award, which is earned by the team having a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher for the academic year.

12 players, eight from the women's team and four from the men's squad, earned ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition. That is given to a student-athlete that achieved a GPA of 3.50 or higher and has been enrolled at the school for at least two semesters.

The honorees on the women's side were freshman Hannah Fabianski (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington), senior Brittani Hetyei (Vernon, N.J./Vernon), senior Lexie Hinrichs (Franklin, Mass./Ursuline Academy), freshman Rachel Madden (New Hartford, N.Y./New Hartford), junior Rachel Petrini (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand), junior Susan Stowe (Hebron, Conn./RHAM), sophomore Olivia von Oldenburg (Austin, Texas/Vandegrift) and senior Ludmila Yamus (Deer Park, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills).

On the men's team, sophomore Daniel Camacho (Bogota, Colombia/CNG), freshman Nick Hatcher (Danbury, Conn./Immaculate), and sophomores Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) and George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao/ISC) were all honored.
