Bentley Tops Bluefield State in Florida 7-2

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Bentley women's tennis team earned a hard-fought 7-2 win over Bluefield State on Wednesday as part of the team's spring break trip.

Brittani Hetyei (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township) and Corrie MacLean (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) each won both of their matches on the day, and the team's overall record improves to 9-9 with the victory

Hetyei was one of two doubles teams to win their match for the Falcons. She teamed with Catherine Gianino (Burlington, Mass./Burlington) for an 8-4 victory in the No. 2 match. While MacLean combined with Hannah Fabianski (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington) for an 8-1 victory in the No. 3 match.

Of the five singles matches Bentley won, three came after dropping the first set, including Ludmila Yamus (Deer Park, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills) in the No. 1 match (2-6, 7-5, 6-0). MacLean won her second match in the No. 5 spot after dropping the first set 6-1, but didn't lose a game from that point on and took the next two sets 6-0. Hetyei swept to a 6-0, 6-3 victory in the No. 3 spot for her second win of the afternoon.

Bentley will conclude its spring break trip on Friday at Florida Tech.
