Adelphi Snaps Bentley’s Streak, 7-2

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley's three-match winning streak came to an end on Saturday as Adelphi kept its unbeaten season in tact with a 7-2 victory over the women's tennis team in Northeast-10 play.

The Falcons picked up a win each in doubles and singles play. The No. 3 pairing of Hannah Fabianski (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington) and Corrie MacLean (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) defeated Rebecca Fakas and Elena Nastasi in a tiebreak 9-8 (8-6).  Adelphi's No. 1 pairing of Stefani Lineva and Karen Serina snuck past their Bentley counterparts, Ludmila Yamus (Deer Park, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills) and Rachel Petrini (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) 9-7.

Yamus earned Bentley's point in singles, in the No. 1 match, dispatching Lineva 6-3, 7-6 (7-0).

Bentley (3-2, 3-2 NE-10) is back on the courts tomorrow when they host New Haven.
