Bentley Tops Saint Anselm 7-2 for Second Straight

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley women's tennis team improved to 6-4 in the Northeast-10 with a 7-2 victory over Saint Anselm on Friday.

Juniors Catherine Gianino (Burlington, Mass./Burlington) and Brittani Hetyei (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township) each won two matches to lead the effort. Bentley won the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches and five of six singles matches.

Gianino and Hetyei combined in the No. 2 doubles match to defeat Saint Anselm's team of Kate Martin and Meghan Golden 8-2. Kayla Anghinetti (Seekonk, Mass./Bishop Feehan) and Susan Stowe (Hebron, Conn./RHAM) defeated Courtney Russell and Katie Russell from the Hawks 8-4 in the No. 3 match.

Gianino defeated Golden 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 2 match, and Hetyei defeated Kathryn Rindo 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 4 match for their second wins of the day. Other singles winners for Bentley were Rachel Petrini (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) in the No. 3 match, senior Melanie Scott (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) in the No. 5 match and freshman Jill Kamphaus (Walpole, Mass./Ursuline Academy) in the No.6 match.

The Falcons will look for their third straight win on Sunday when they visit Southern New Hampshire.
