Bentley Wins Third Straight, 7-2 over AIC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Bentley University won its third straight match on Tuesday, defeating American International 7-2 in Northeast-10 women's tennis play. Juniors Catherine Gianino (Burlington, Mass./Burlington) and Brittani Hetyei (Vernon, N.J./Vernon) each won two matches.

Gianino and Hetyei helped Bentley sweep doubles play and take a 3-0 lead into singles. In the No. 2 match, they defeated Eleana Fulop and Jasmine Byrd 8-0. Ludmila Yamus (Deer Park, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills) and Rachel Petrini (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) took the No. 1 match, 8-4 over Ana Simoes and Isabel Daudt.

In singles, Gianino defeated Daudt 7-5, 6-0 in the No. 2 match, and Hetyei got the better of Byrd in the No. 4 match by a 6-1, 6-1 count.

Now 4-3 on the season, the Falcons will go for their fourth straight win on Sunday at Adelphi.
