Bentley Sweeps UMass-Boston 9-0
KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Three different players won two matches as the Bentley women's tennis team defeated UMass-Boston 9-0 on Friday in a non-conference match in Kissimmee.
Sophomores Ludmila Yamus (Deer Park, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills) and Catherine Gianino (Burlington, Mass./Burlington) and freshman Rachel Petrini (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) each won two matches as the Falcons improve to 6-3 on the season.
Yamus, Gianino and Petrini each earned their second wins of the day in singles. Yamus defeated Anitra Kloczewiak in the first-flight match 6-1, 6-3. Gianino topped Samantha Counts 6-0, 6-0 in the second-flight, and Petrini bested Vanessa Pojidaev 6-0, 6-0.
Bentley will wrap up its spring break trip on Saturday against Eckerd at 10:00 am.
