Hapkiewicz, Almog, Lang and Danehy Win Year End Honors from Northeast 10

WALTHAM, Mass. – Three members of the Bentley women's swimming and diving team and Diving Coach Rick Danehy were announced as year-end award winners by the Northeast 10 on Wednesday.

Emma Hapkiewicz was named the Co-Women's Swimmer of the Year. Hilla Almog is the Women's Diver of the Year and Skyla Lang is the Women's Rookie of the Year.

Danehy was voted the Women's Diving Coach of the Year for the ninth time in his career and the fifth season in a row.

Hapkiewicz had another standout season in the distance freestyle events. She won the 500, 1000 and 1650 free events at the NE10 Championships and was named Swimmer of the Meet for the second straight year. It was also the second straight year she swept those three events at the NE10 meet.

She represented Bentley at the NCAA Division II Championships in those events for the second consecutive year as well.

Almog was named a second team All-America at the NCAA Championships in the 3-meter dive and she also competed in the 1-meter dive.

She was selected Diver of the Meet at the NE10 Championships after she won gold in both the 1 and 3 meter dives. Almog was also unbeaten in those events during Bentley's dual meet season.

Lang won four medals at the NE10 Championships with silver in the 200 breaststroke and bronze in the 100 breaststroke, and silver in the 200 and 800 free relays.

Danehy, also a five-time NE10 Men's Diving Coach of the Year in his career, has now coached the NE10 Diver of the Year 11 times, both female and male.
