Hapkiewicz Swims 500 Free at NCAA Championships
GENEVA, Ohio – Emma Hapkiewicz swam her second event at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in the 500 freestyle on Friday and posted a time that was less than two seconds off her season best.
In the morning prelims session, she swam a time of 5:04.23 to place 44th overall.
Her season best time was 5:02.90, which she used to win gold at the NE10 Championships back in February, for the second straight year.
She is Bentley's record holder in the 500 at 5:00.28.
Hapkiewicz, who swam the 1000 free on Wednesday, will compete in the 1650 free on Saturday.
