Bentley Captures 12 of 13 Events at Babson for 8th Consecutive Win

BABSON PARK, Mass. – With wins in 12 of 13 events, the Bentley University women's swimming and diving team extended its winning streak to eight with a 167-63 win over Babson College Tuesday night at Babson's Morse Pool. The Falcons improved to 8-1 this season and 46-1 since October 2017.

Double winners for the Falcons included junior Emma Hapkiewicz (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) and senior Dariana Gonzales (Stamford, Conn./Westhill HS), who also were part of Bentley's winning 200 yard free relay team. They combined with senior Marissa Adamo (Hackettstown, N.J./Mount Olive HS) and sophomore Madison Capria (Middle Village, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy HS) for a time of 1:44.49.

Hapkiewicz captured the two distance races as she swam the 1000 freestyle in 10:50.69 and the 500 free in 5:15.45. Gonzales led a 1-2-3 Bentley finish in the 200 free with a 1:57.50 and also was first in the 100 backstroke (1:00.75).

Senior Kate Galvin (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern HS) also doubled for the Falcons with wins in the 50 free (25.39) and the 100 free (56.11).

Other first place finishes in swimming events came from sophomore Jordan Nuzback (Fairview, Pa./McDowell HS) in the 200 individual medley (2:15.66), freshman Lily Rice (Walton, Ky./Larry A. Ryle HS) in the 100 butterfly (56.11) and freshman Morgan Kingsley (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia HS) in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.94).

Senior Mary Huminski (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS) edged sophomore teammate Hilla Almog (Wayland/Wayland HS) by 9.35 points in the one-meter diving, posting a 229.20, and Almog had a winning score of 206.00 from the three-meter board.

Bentley will be at home Sunday afternoon for a Senior Day meet against Pace University.
