Freshmen Lead Bentley Women Past St. Michael’s, 159-111

WALTHAM, Mass. – Freshman Taylor White (Warwick, Bermuda/Warwick Academy) won three individual events and four other first-year swimmers also turned in winning performances as Bentley University defeated St. Michael's College, 159-111, in women's college swimming Tuesday afternoon in the Dana Center pool.

In her team's first action in a month, White placed first in the 1000 yard freestyle (10:59.65), the 200 backstroke (2:12.11) and the 100 butterfly (1:02.02) with the Falcons going 1-2-3 in all three events. She was also part of Bentley's 200 free relay team that finished in 1:43.76.

Classmate Morgan Kingsley (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia HS) won two races, the 100 breaststroke (1:12.68) and the 200 breast (2:33.93). In addition, she swam a leg on Bentley's 200 medley relay team that took first in 1:54.99.

The other freshmen winners were Brydie Olofson (Hampton Hills, N.H./Winnacunnet HS) in the 100 back (1:06.50), Lily Rice (Walton, Ky./Larry A. Ryle HS) in the 200 fly (2:16.28) and Grace Motisi (Ellington, Conn./Ellington HS) in the 500 free (5:32.75).

Sophomore Hilla Almog (Wayland/Wayland HS) swept the two diving events, with scores of 262.88 from the one-meter board and 217.87 off the three-meter.

Bentley's other winners were senior Kate Galvin (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern HS) in the 50 free (29.32) and junior Emma Hapkiewicz (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) in the 200 free (2:03.50). Galvin also anchored both winning relays.

Bentley, 6-1 with a six-meet winning streak, will host Adelphi University Thursday at 4 pm.
