Gonzales & Kingsley Post Top Finishes for Bentley Women during Day 2 of Gompei Invitational

WORCESTER, Mass. – Bentley University senior Tanner Eisenhut (Jamesville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius HS), who took first place in the 200 yard breaststroke Friday night in the Gompei Invitational at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, did the same Saturday evening in the 100 breast.

Eisenhut swam the 200 breast in 57.30 seconds to reach the wall 0.42 seconds before runner-up Jimmy Kundrats of Rowan University. It was a new personal best, surpassing the 57.93 he registered during the Northeast-10 Conference Championships last February.

Eisenhut was also part of Bentley's 400 medley relay that finished sixth in 3:30.79. Senior Ryan Looney (Wilton, Conn./Wilton HS) led off and the team also included senior Anthony Vizental (Concord, Calif./Clayton Valley HS) and junior Andrew Matjucha (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS).

Vizental had Bentley's second highest individual finish of the night, a fourth in the 50 butterfly (23.46). Sophomore Joey Twomey (Sebastian, Fla./Sebastian River HS) also swam in the A Finals of the 50 fly and finished ninth in 24.18.

Looney anchored the Falcons' 200 free relay team that finished fourth in 1:25.77. Preceding him into the pool were junior Wellington Chen (Great Neck, N.Y./John H. Miller HS) and sophomores Marshall Wilson (Beverly Hills, Fla./Crystal Ranch HS) and Calvin Ye (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schreiber HS).

The highest finishes for the women's team were achieved by senior Dariana Gonzales (Stamford, Conn./Westhill HS) and freshman Morgan Kingsley (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia HS), both with fifth-place showings. Gonzales swam the 200 free in 1:56.27 and Kingsley's time in the 100 breast was 1:07.73.

In the women's 50 fly, sophomore Jordan Nuzback (Fairview, Pa./McDowell HS) and freshman Caroline Ubert (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington HS) were sixth and ninth, respectively, with times of 26.81 and 27.89.

Bentley was eighth in both women's relays with times of 1:40.18 in the 200 free and 4:03.04 in the 400 medley. Gonzales and Nuzback were part of both while the medley also included Nuzback and Ubert. The 200 free also included junior Emma Hapkiewicz (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) and senior Kate Galvin (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern HS).

In the combined team standings, Bentley is sixth of nine with 2246 points, just 1.5 back of Brandeis University. The top four are Bryant University (4,636), WPI (2,829), Rowan (2,629 and Springfield College (2589.5).

The three-day meet will conclude Sunday with prelims at 9 am, diving at 1:30 pm and the finals at 5:30 pm.
