GREENSBORO, N.C. – Bentley University sophomore Emma Hapkiewicz (South Windsor, Conn./ South Windsor HS) broke her own school record Wednesday while competing in the 1000-yard freestyle at the NCAA Division II Championships.

Hapkiewicz won her heat and finished 25^th overall with her time of 10:21.71 bettering the mark of 10:22.06 she set last month while earning gold in the Northeast-10 Conference Championships.

Hapkiewicz, the only Northeast-10 swimmer competing in the nationals, will have Thursday off before competing in the 500 free Friday and the 1650 free Saturday.
