NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Bentley University's Kate Galvin (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern HS) and Jordan Nuzback (Fairview, Pa./McDowell HS) each won individual gold and helped the Falcons take first in the 400-yard medley relay during day 2 of the 2022 Northeast-10 Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Championships Friday night at Southern Connecticut State University's Hutchinson Natatorium.

Galvin swam to victory in the 50 freestyle, with her time of 24.02 in the finals giving her a winning margin of a quarter of a second over Caitlyn Longway of Le Moyne. In the prelims earlier in the day, she broke her own school record, set in December at WPI, by 0.11 seconds.

Nuzback earned the title of Northeast-10 champion in the 200 yard individual medley, winning by 2.17 seconds with a 2:07.91. Junior Jennifer Chen (Darien, Conn./Darien HS) placed seventh in the same event, finishing in 2:12.79.

Nuzback and Galvin swam the final two legs in the 400 medley relay, following junior Dariana Gonzales (Stamford, Conn./Westhill HS) and sophomore Emily Blatt (Westford, Mass./Westford Academy). They won in 3:55.70 with a margin of 1.70 seconds after Galvin turned in a 51.63 freestyle over the final 100.

Sophomore Emma Hapkiewicz (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS), who won the 1000 free Thursday night, followed that effort with a second-place performance in the 500 free. Her 5:02.51 broke Melissa Viator's four-year-old school record (5:04.30) and was an NCAA "B" cut.

Also in the 500, senior Rona Mejiritski (Bowling Green, Ohio/Bowling Green HS) was sixth in 5:11.41.

In the other relay contested Friday, Hapkiewicz and Nuzback were part of a Bentley team that was fifth in the 200 free in 1:40.43. The Falcons' first two swimmers in that quartet were freshman Hilla Almog (Wayland, Mass./Wayland HS) and senior Hanna Ryan (North Royalton, Ohio / Brecksville Broadview Heights HS).

During the first two days, the Falcon women have captured the gold in six of eight events and also have one silver medal. Coach Maty Kay Samko's team is currently in second place with 295 points, 138 back of second-place Southern Connecticut.
