Gonzales & Huminski Earn NE10 Weekly Honors; 200 Medley Relay Team Also Honored

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University juniors Dariana Gonzales (Stamford, Conn./Westhill HS) and Mary Huminski (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS) have been named the Women's Swimming and Women's Diver of the Week, respectively, in the Northeast-10 Conference for their performances in Saturday's season-opening meet at Wheaton College.

Also recognized, as the Women's Relay Team of the Week, was Bentley's 200 medley relay team of Gonzales, sophomore Emily Blatt (Westford/Westford Academy), junior Kate Galvin (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern HS) and freshman Jordan Nuzback (Fairview, Pa./McDowell HS).

Gonzales finished first in the 200 back (2:08.42) and was second in both the 200 free (1:57.24) and the 200 individual medley (2:16.52). She also led off the 200 medley relay that was second in 1:50.38, swimming the backstroke leg in 27.93. All three individual times were Northeast-10 season-bests.

Huminski, the 2019-20 Northeast-10 Women's Diver of the Year captured both diving events at Wheaton. She posted scores of 261.70 from the one meter and 240.00 off the three meter. Her performance from the one-meter met the standard for the NCAA Division II qualifying meet in March. This is the fifth time in her career that the two-time conference champion has received Diver of the Week honors.

In diving, Gonzales, Blatt, Nuzback and Galvin combined to finish second in 1:50.38, fastest in the conference thus far this season.  As mentioned above, Gonzalez had an outstanding opening leg with a 27.93 in the 50 back. Blatt swam the breaststroke in 31.84, Nuzback put up a 26.67 in the butterfly and Galvin closed with a 23.94 in the free.

On Sunday, Bentley will host Le Moyne in the team's first home meet since January 2020.
